 As a general rule 10 years are given for the repayment of the loan, but the plan is extended up to 30 yrs according to your convenience. The student loans consolidation can be taken from a bank or credit organization, which is a member of the federal family education loan program or can be directly consolidated from the U.S. Department of Education.

 Eligibility for loan consolidation

1.      Your have started repaying your prior loans or are in the 6 month grace of your loan repayment followed by graduation.

2.      The number of lenders for your loans is more than one.

3.      The present loan sum is more than $7,500.

4.      Student Loans consolidation has not been done before or was done in school, and now has new loan plans with different lenders.
